Week 03- Building Bhavkala
Connection is the solution!
March 22, 2026
There are weeks that feel like returns — not just to people, but to a self that has been working in the background.
This week, I had the joy of reconnecting with artists from the Bhavkala Collective of July 2024. It had been a while. I sat with them and shared, honestly, what the past two years had looked like — the exhibitions, a marriage, the hours spent meeting people across the art industry, speaking with investors, and quietly constructing the digital infrastructure of what Bhavkala is becoming.
I was also delighted to catch up with artist Roopsi, from Bhavkala Collective 2024, who shared that our connection from the exhibition, turned into a fruitful commissioned project of four paintings later that year. This is exactly the ripples we at Bhavkala meant to generate.
The survey made somethings very clear.
The Pain Point-
Artists find physical exhibitions temporary, galleries hard to access, and collectors even harder to reach. They want a digital presence but find managing it alone overwhelming. And even the most dedicated artists struggle to communicate their own story — their process, their intent, their growth over time.
Moving towards creating value and solving problems-
This is exactly what the Bhavkala platform is being built to solve. Where artists have a living timeline — a chronological record of their journey, exhibitions, and milestones that speaks for them. Articles that give their voice and new releases a room beyond a caption and reels.
Involving collaborations with organisations, creating opportunities that can include artists and support the creative economy. Sounds like big claims, but the need and demand directs us towards this again and again.
Lastly, this tuesday, Sora Collective gifted me their 2026 Calendar created by their “Sunflowers”, and I found myself genuinely moved. Their work with children, the way they hold space for young imaginations to become art. It reminded me why we do this. The kids growth in art skill was visible, and truly moved me with joy and compassion. We ought to collaborate in future.
Each week, we move a little closer.
