Lullaby is an original mixed-media illustration inspired by a poem written by the artist for her beloved cat. Blending illustration, collage, and elements reminiscent of children’s books, the artwork transforms a deeply personal song into a dreamlike visual story. Symbols of joy, love, fairy tales, and magical imagery create a gentle atmosphere where every night becomes a comforting ritual of warmth and belonging.
The artwork celebrates the unconditional bond between humans and their animal companions, capturing the quiet tenderness of singing a loved one to sleep. Through delicate collage layers and whimsical storytelling, Lullaby becomes both a poem and a painting—a visual lullaby born from a cat-mom’s heart.
Lullaby
Words tumble down
Like tinkling crystal
As I try to dream. My baby
clings to me
As it thunders and pours
A refreshing, heavenly stream.Fairy kisses,
Spells and charms,
Gifts from realms afar,
My baby’s eyes
Reflect the moon
She shimmers like a star! Her purring melodies
And cooing chirps
Inspire magical rhyme
And I turn the moment
Into a song.
Her personal
Once upon a time….
